Welcome to Jason's Shiny New Blog!

So, I thought I'd get a blogspot.com account for the first time, to go with my shiny new jasonbradleyproctor@gmail.com email account.

I guess a good place to start this is with a brief overview of my future plans.  My current job will be ending next month.  I plan on relaxing during the holidays and probably during January, thanks to what should be a good tax refund.

I plan on filing my taxes ASAP and getting a FAFSA application for student financial aid filed.  Probably the first part of February I will then be applying for admission to KCTCS.  I am planning to pursue a two-year associate degree in Library Information Technology, starting with the Fall 2012 semester.  This is an online program offered by KCTCS through Bluegrass Community College.  The full title is Associate of Applied Science in Information Management & Design with the Library Information Technology Option.  Read all about it here:  http://www.bluegrass.kctcs.edu/CSIS/LIT

I plan on job-hunting in late January/early February.  Now, ideally, I would LOVE to land a part-time entry-level job at a library, and do that while going to school.  If that doesn't pan out, I'll most likely return to retail work while I am in school.  My long term goal is to work as a Library Associate.  I'd love to eventually maybe be the assistant who is in charge of a media department (eBooks, audio books, CD's, DVD's, etc.) at a library, or the genealogy/Kentucky room.  If all goes well with the associate's degree, there is also a bachelor's degree in LIT offered through Northern Kentucky University, also online.  So, who knows, I may even end up doing that eventually.

Meanwhile, one thing that I am going to start using this blog for is to post the photos and captions from when I go somewhere.  I usually write really long photo captions on facebook and try to arrange them in some order, and yet it arranges the pics randomly on the wall view.  I doubt if anyone really reads the captions on there, LOL.  But, I do like to sort of do a "travelogue" to go with my pictures, and so hence I think doing a blog post on here and linking to it on facebook will work better, look better, and (hopefully) be a more interesting reading/viewing experience for my friends.

I have a MAJOR "dream trip" solo vacation coming up in the middle of next month if all goes as planned.  Kind of a big last hurrah before I settle into whatever new job I get in the new year, and get ready to start school next fall.  The story of my big pre-Christmas trip next month will be my first major blog post on here, with lots of pictures from and details of the trip.  (HINT, in the form of a song lyric... "Ridin' on the City of New Orleans...")
